Born in Florida and raised in Hong Kong, in 2004 the 17 year-old Anna-Catherine Hartley (aka Uffie) walked into hip-hop as a teenager and took Paris by the balls. When she booked DJ FEADZ for a live show, it concluded with her doing the vocal on his new project. Together they created the electro-pop hits “Ready to Uff” and “Pop the Glock”.
Influenced by grime, crunk, hip-hop and acid house, Uffie delivered a flow somewhere between electro, rap and nu-skool with a clear affinity for explicit and provocative lyrics.
Featuring a duet with Pharrell Williams (Neptunes / NERD) plus many more exciting collaborations, "Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans" is the album she hinted at being capable of delivering – a futuristic, electronic hip hop soundtrack, soaked in kittenish sex appeal and going in heavy on endlessly catchy pop hooks. With her underground dues paid and a killer debut album in the can, the time is perfect for her to become of the first genuinely exciting breakout artists of 2010.
