Does anyone know if a Southern California band called Wheatfield Peace was ever signed by Elektra, but the lead singer was killed in an accident so they never fulfilled their contract? This would have been around 2000 or 2001. They may have opened for one of the Cramps concerts back then as well? They categorized their music as psychadelic.

I know of this group and they were quite good. It was the guitarist Mike who was killed going to Vegas so they never actually signed a major label. The group consisted of Steve, John, Mike, Eddie Kim and Andrew. They played a couple times in LA. I don't think they ever did a CD or anything like that. If they did I would have bought it!
Buena Park was their home base.
