CouchFire
About Me
CouchFire debuted on the local Memphis scene in September 2005, playing such venues as Murphy's, Reedmeister's, The Hi-Tone, The Stage Stop, and The New Daisy. CouchFire changed its home to Nashville in 2008 and has already rocked Exit/In, The Muse, and The End. CouchFire has been played on the Memphis local rock station local hour as well as the French internet station IS75. Their song Deep Marine stayed in the stations top ten for at least five weeks.
CouchFire's musical style has developed and progressed throughout the years, with one element has remaining constant…Hard Rockin' Music! Chris Seifert (guitar, vocals) and David Parker (Drums, Keys, Vocals) have been playing together for years, with a multitude of musicians, all the while developing their own musical talents. By 2007, due to the departure of numerous bass players, CouchFire was a duo. This forced Parker, and eventually Seifert, to experiment with multiple instruments to fill in the missing elements during live performances. The addition of Parker's multitasking keyboards and drums (yes, at the same time) has provided new possibilities in songwriting and helps create CouchFire's unique sound. This sound developed further with the addition of Daniel Hearn in the summer of 2008. Hearn provides sound engineering/recording capabilities as well as vocals ,bass, and guitar. CouchFire's influences include Neutral Milk Hotel, System of a Down, Weezer, Muse, Chevelle, The Smiths, and The Pixies.
