MIKE ATLAS

Mike Atlas is an emerging songwriter, producer and graphic artist. He is currently finishing his debut album, “Story of Love” set to release in the spring of 2011. Although he credits a variety of influences to his style, his art is a reflection of himself. “I feel music and art are universal, it could be in a different language, it’s the feeling you get, some things seem to touch your soul!"

Born in Kansas City, KS, Mike grew up in a single parent home with his mother and two sisters, the youngest and only boy… His unique style is the outcome of his exposure to all genres of music. Growing up in a household where any given day you could hear Marvin Gaye, Prince, Michael Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest to Madonna. “It taught me to love and appreciate good music, not just good hip hop and r&b which were common in my surroundings."

Mike began singing at an early age and soon after started writing his own songs… This sparked a love that is still strong to this day. While attending Lincoln University, he joined forces with producer and friend Sharieff Robinson who helped shape his style and his approach to writing. Mike got involved in the local music scene, writing and performing with various groups. He also performed with Space Jam Entertainment as an opening act for recording artist Bobby Valentino. This, plus many other experiences over the years has made Mike work harder to see his dream of becoming a professional songwriter a reality. Today, Mike continues to create and prepare for the next steps in his journey toward success.
