Tommy Gunn/ March Heir
About Me:
Tommy Gunn: Is the frontman,Composer and WORDSMHITH for the Adult-Contemporary Country Rock Band; "March Heir." March Heir calls the music "Americana." The name is the result of the coincidence that evrerything that is good happens to me in March; so I tell folks I "Inherrited my men in march." The name was a given--March Heir. Tommy moved west and studied Music with minors in Music Composition, Music Theory, and Fictional Writing during his college years in Colorado. My strengths are my lyrical and vocal style." March Heir's music has been described in local music rags as Americana,Country Music meets Jim Morrison, and just plain old Contemporary Country Rock! Love songs abound for the women listeners, and they'll swoon when their hear Tommy Gunn's deep baritone, yet he can scream like Tyler when he wants, says the "Hammer," Phillip Franco. Jimmy Lee Robbins on lead guitar brings the "Country" side of this interesting. Hailing from Prarie Village KS and Hollywood CA, Tommy Gunn says of his Lead Guitarist, "I don't care if he is playing a Martin or a Strat, you know who's behind the wood when Jimmy is on Lead." We even do a RAP song; "Cause someone said I couldn't write RAP," says Gunn with a grin... Filling out this uniques foursome is Rick Belke of Colorado Springs on his five string bass. Rick and the Hammer are solid as Stone as the rhythm section! "They lock up as if they were born as a rhythem section. Rick is Melodic yet on the kick all the time, Rick is one of my all time favorite Bassmen." Gunn goes on to say, "I am not a bragart, in fact I am a bit shy depp down. This band is gonna make some people take a step back when they hear us blend Rock, Contemporary Country, Reggie, and a touch of RAP and make it all work. I am humbled and blessed to be with these guys...."

We intend to take that spot! Additionally, we kick it with edgy rockers like, "Bad Boy," You Can't Get Blood from a Stone," and my favorite which always brings down the house, "Stealer."

Bio:

Jimmy Lee Robbins, our lead guitarist writes etherial guitar melodies one can sing, and his guitar lines are most memorable. Jimmy Lee had good success in the Texas music scene. In 2005 Jimmy Lee played with Duke Davis and Buckshot. Their #1 single had that spot for the summer of 2005. "He is gifted beyong words, " says Gunn. Whether Jim is playing a Martin, a Strat, or an SG, you know whose behind the Wood when Jim lets the strings sing!"

"We wrote the song Colorado (I am Home) as a tribute to this beautiful state, besides, says Gunn, "John Denver had a long run with (Rocky Mountain High,) It's March Heir's turn!" Jimmy Lee Robbins (guitar , banjo , lap steel , bass and vocalist) joined Tommy Gunn in Feb. of 2011. Originally Tommy had asked Jimmy to play acoustic guitar on two tunes for a project. Now, over a year later, the relationship has turned into working together on the rest of a new CD.

Jimmy has made the comment that the way Tommy and he have worked together is proof that east coast and west coast can be successful together … Tommy from New York and Jimmy from California.

Jimmy has also commented that “being in a band that does all original material is very refreshing because I have done top forty tunes in clubs in California and Texas for years. It takes the pressure off being compared to the original artists, plus the material is very good which, obviously, makes it more enjoyable”! Doing our own stuff gives us wings, doing cover top 40 material gives you you weigt to carry around. Their is something very spiritual amout playing ones own music; One becomes connected to the Eternal.

In the big picture of things, Jimmy said that working with Tommy has been a pleasure and amazingly smooth. “What more can a man ask for … good music and good friendship”!

Bio2:

Rick Belke on the 5 String Bass, came over to our side from a local "Thrash-Rock"cover band and has added a steady botton to our mix and when he does a run up the neck it is tasty and still comes in right on the "G" spot.
Our outbreack CD recored in Poor Freddy's Studios in Colorado Springs is entitled; "Colorado I am Home!" Says Tommy Gunn, "and I think we a going to surprise a lot of people with our material. No one can pigeon hole us. We play straight out Contemporary Country in one cut, "Country Child" People come up to me after a show and say, "Man you guys Rock Out!" I think ummm? Tha

Bio3:

Philippe Franco, also a Texas boy handles our Drumming and Percussion section. He is as solid as a rock on stage. I call him "The Hammer" because when Philippe plays, one can feel his rythems in the gut even if you're sittig in the last row!"
