I've been active in the Toledo music scene for about 5 years, mostly in the hard rock and metal scene. It takes a lot to impress me. However, I caught Rook Roca during her set at the Toledo Music Expo. She is truly a breath of fresh air not only for the Toledo music scene, but for female rappers everywhere. Her delivery is impeccable, her lyrics are deep, and there is an intensity when she performs that can rival most rock frontmen. Even with heavy mic feedback, she still kills in this performance. Here I am, a guy who has Slayer, The Deftones, and Pantera on my iPod, and I find myself listening to her music every time I put it on. I HIGHLY recommend you check her out on Facebook or Myspace.
